Playing fair on fair pay

The Fair Pay Network is a new campaigning coalition, which will be launched next month. It's goal, according to its yet-to-be-launched website, will be to "change the climate of opinion about low pay in the UK."

A worthy goal, supported by worthy organisations - Oxfam, the Child Poverty Action Group, various trade unions and so on. But it might help set an example, perhaps, if when they hire staff, they decide to pay them.

This position might be called an 'events/campaign internship', but check out the job description (organising public events, lobbying MPs, office administration) and it looks like whoever they hire will be running the shop. Evening working required too. Fair pay? Hardly, it's expenses only...
